Mugshot removal

Remove your mugshot. Never pay the site.

Mugshot sites post your booking photo, then charge you hundreds to delete your own face. That business model has a name, and the removal levers that actually work are free. They are on this page.

Ten minutes, no fee, no account required for the first step.

The levers already exist

Google
Exploitative-sites policy
Google removes pages about you from sites that charge for removal. The page stops showing up when anyone searches your name.
State
Anti-extortion statutes
Florida, Texas, California and others make it illegal for mugshot sites to charge you for removal, and require deletion on request.
$0
Every lever is free
Reputation shops charge $500+ for the same forms. We show you the exact doors and never charge for the protective action.

Three steps, all free

The removal, step by step.

Step one

Cut it out of Google Search

Google's removal policy covers sites with exploitative removal practices, which is exactly what pay-to-delete mugshot sites are. Submit the request with the page's link. Once granted, the page stops appearing when anyone searches your name, which is how nearly everyone would have found it.

Step two

Charges dropped, sealed, or expunged? Use the law.

If your case ended in your favor, many states require these sites to delete the page free of charge when you ask. Email the site's contact address with proof of the outcome, say the removal is required by state law, and keep a copy of what you send. Silence past their statutory deadline strengthens any later complaint.

Step three

Clear the leftover search results

When a site deletes the page, or the page changes after a record is sealed, Google can keep showing the stale result for weeks. The outdated-content tool clears it. Sign in with any Google account and paste the link.

Why you never pay

The fee is the racket.

Paying tells them it works

These sites exist because desperate people pay. Every fee funds more scraping, and the same photo often reappears on a sister site with a fresh fee.

The $500 reputation shops use the same free forms

Removal services mostly submit the exact Google request you can submit yourself in ten minutes. You are paying a markup on a free door.

A news article is different

Journalism about an arrest is not a mugshot racket, and we will not help scrub it. This page is for sites that monetize your booking photo, not for rewriting the record.

One photo is never on one site

Find every copy before you start.

Mugshot sites scrape each other. The photo you found is usually on three or four of their sister sites too, each waiting for its own fee. Our free face scan searches by your face, not your name, and gives you the full list to work through the steps above. Your original photo never leaves your device.
